HC Deb 21 July 1909 vol 8 c519
Mr. PATRICK WHITE

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether the Estates Commissioners are negotiating the purchase of the Piers estate, Clonasillagh, county Meath; and, if they have received a memorial from the occupiers of uneconomic holdings in the district urging its purchase and redistribution, whether they will expedite the matter?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners have intimated to the owner the price they would be prepared to advance for these lands, but formal proceedings for sale have not yet been instituted before them. The memorial referred to cannot be identified from the particulars given in the question.
