HC Deb 21 July 1909 vol 8 c512
Mr. CATHCART WASON

asked whether, in view of the unique tenure of land in the crofting districts and the hardships that will be entailed by individuals having to incur the expense of separate valuations, authority will be given to the Crofters' Commission to undertake the liability for such valuations?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

My right hon. Friend understands that it is not usual for crofters to own their land, but where this is the case he will consider the question of the expense of separate valuations.
