HC Deb 21 July 1909 vol 8 c510
Sir FREDERICK BANBURY

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will state when he proposes to pay drawback on exported British compounds at the new rate of duty?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Charles Hobhouse)

The drawback on spirits exported applies only to spirits warehoused by a rectifier, and' the rectifier is entitled under sub-section (11) of section 95 of the Spirits Act, 1880, on giving three days' notice, to receive a drawback of the duties paid by him on such spirits.

Sir F. BANBURY

Am I to understand that after two days' notice has been given, and all the conditions complied with, the drawback will be granted?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

Yes, certainly.
