HC Deb 12 July 1909 vol 7 c1645
Mr. RAPHAEL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will take into consideration the desirability of granting exemption from the Increment Tax to the owners of property below a certain value?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The Government have under their consideration proposals having this end in view, and hope to be able to make an announcement on the subject shortly.

Lord BALCARRES

Am I to understand that the exemption which the right hon. Gentleman is now considering in regard to Income Tax on small properties is also to be extended to the Undeveloped Land Tax?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

No, sir. The question put to me was whether the exemption for Income Tax was to apply to owners of property a certain value.
