HC Deb 12 July 1909 vol 7 c1656
Mr. JOHN REDMOND

When may we expect to see on the Paper the words which the right hon. Gentleman proposes to move with reference to the Agricultural Land Increment Tax?

Mr. LLOYD-GEORGE

I did read my proposal out to the House, but I also promised to consider if any alternative would be more satisfactory. I have not had time to formulate the words, and, as we have passed the sub-section dealing with this particular tax, it cannot now be done on this clause. There is, therefore, plenty of time, but I guarantee that the words shall be put down.

Mr. JOHN REDMOND

I thought it was understood it should come at the end of Clause 2?

Mr. LLOYD-GEORGE

No, I think it is impossible to do that, as we have already passed the sub-section dealing with agricultural land.
