HC Deb 05 July 1909 vol 7 c786
Mr. STANIER

asked what is the weight per bushel of the oats bought by the War Office to be supplied to Yeomanry forces; and what was the actual weight per bushel of the oats supplied to the Shropshire Yeomanry?

Mr. ACLAND

The conditions of contract for Salisbury Plain lay down that the weight of oats per imperial bushel should not be less than 40 lbs. No oats were accepted from the contractor who supplied the Shropshire and other Yeomanry at less than this weight.

Mr. STANIER

Is it a fact that the oats were 40 lbs. to the bushel?

Mr. ACLAND

That is so.
