HC Deb 05 July 1909 vol 7 c809
Mr. FELL

asked if the site value of the Bank of England for increment purposes it to be calculated under the Finance Bill from the value realised by land in the immediate neighbourhood after making an allowance for the fact that the Bank site is supposed to be cleared, and the Bank, for the purposes of the valuation, to be no longer in existence in the City?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The method of ascertaining the original site value will be in accordance with the provisions of Clauses 14, 16, and 17 of the Finance Bill, and the determination of the site value on the occasion on which Increment Value Duty becomes due will be governed by Clause 2 of the Bill.
