§ The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)In rising to move, as I do, "That the House do now adjourn," I have to say I 501 find, after consulting the authentic records of the proceedings of the other House that the Finance Bill passed by this House was last night refused a Second Beading by the House of Lords. I therefore give notice that at the earliest opportunity—which will be to-morrow—I shall move the following Resolution:—
"That the action of the House of Lords in refusing to pass into law the financial provisions made by this House for the Service of the year is a breach of the Constitution and a usurpation of the rights of the Commons."
§ Question, "That this House do now adjourn," put, and agreed to.
