§ Mr. HOBHOUSEIt is not proposed to alter the law under which fixed duties of 50s. and 30s. can be paid where the estate does not exceed £500 or £300 (gross) respectively. The total amount received in Death Duties from Ireland in the year 1908–9 on estates not over £500 (net) was £9,306. There is no new scale proposed for estates of this size.
