§ Mr. HALDANEThe average cost for the whole conversion of a rifle, including alteration of breech-block, body and sights, is 17s. 5d. The cost of a new barrel is 15s. 3d. The total cost of converting the 2309 rifles required by the Territorial Force is £280,000, of which it is expected over £100,000 will be spent this year.
