§ Mr. JOHN WARDalso asked whether he has received the Report of Mr. Squires, C.E., who acted as assessor in the Newport Dock inquest; and, if so, does he propose to issue such Report in some official form?
§ Mr. GLADSTONEYes, Sir; I have received from the coroner a copy of the verdict and the riders appended thereto. Mr. Squire, who was appointed by me to represent the Home Office at the inquest, has not as yet, however, submitted his Report on the causes and circumstances of the accident; and until I have been able to consider the Report I am not in a position to make a statement on the subject.
