HC Deb 06 August 1909 vol 8 cc2125-6

Order read for Second Reading.

Motion made, and Question proposed, that "The Bill be now read a second time."

Sir C. W. DILKE

This is the second of these three Bills to which my observations on the former one applied, and I wish to press the unwisdom of creating fresh appointments and additional Ministerial offices without a thorough review of all the Departments taken altogether, with the object of greater co-ordination in their work.

Attention called to the fact that Forty Members were not present. House counted; and, Forty Members being found present,

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolved, "That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the Whole House for Monday next."—[Mr. Joseph Pease.]
