HC Deb 04 August 1909 vol 8 cc1844-5
Major ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

asked the Secretary of State for War whether there is any shortage in the number of trained horses in His Majesty's Army in Great Britain and Ireland; and, if so, what is the amount of the total deficiency, trained and untrained, respectively; and when will it be made good?

The SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Mr. Haldane)

The peace establishment must always necessarily include a number of untrained horses. There is no shortage in the peace establishment, nor is there any difficulty in making good the normal wastage.
