§ The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Hobhouse)The Commissioners of Woods, etc., by whom this rent would be collected if it were in charge, inform me that it has never been collected since the land revenues were placed under the management of those Commissioners, not being included in any of the charge rentals of that Department. Whether it was redeemed at some date subsequent to 1664 or lapsed from non-collection is not known, but in any case the recovery of the rent would now be barred by statute, as it has not been collected within 60 years.
