HC Deb 27 April 1909 vol 4 c179
Mr. WARDLE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in the event of the Great Northern, Great Central, and Great Eastern working union Bill not being proceeded with, he still intends to appoint a Committee to inquire into the question of amalgamation and working agreements with respect to the railways of the country?

A similar question stood on the paper in the name of Mr. CECIL HARMSWORTH.

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Churchill)

I will answer both questions together. I am now considering the best form and scope of a Parliamentary inquiry into the questions referred to, and hope to be in a position to make an announcement shortly.
