asked the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether he is aware that the Duke of Northumberland imposes a £5 licence-fee upon every fishing boat fishing within three miles of the coast throughout the length of that county; and whether he is prepared to propose a time limit, say of 14 years, after which this monopoly shall be recovered for the fishing industry concerned, or for the State?

We have no official information on this subject. There is no intention of proposing legislation respecting it.
