HC Deb 19 April 1909 vol 3 c1260
Mr. CATHCART WASON

asked the Prime Minister if he will consider the desirability of suspending the 11 o'clock Rule to-morrow, Tuesday the 20th, in order to ensure a Vote on the Trawling in Prohibited Areas (Prevention) Bill.

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY of the TREASURY (Mr. Joseph Pease)

I think there will be no difficulty in securing at to-morrow evening's sitting the Trawling in Prohibited Areas (Prevention) Bill, without having recourse to that procedure; but I will make a representation to the Prime Minister on the subject.

Lord BALCARRES

Is it not the case that the Metropolitan Bill comes first?

Mr. JOSEPH PEASE

The statement which the Prime Minister made before the adjournment was that we should endeavour to secure, as the first Order, the second reading of the Houses of Parliament Bill. It will take a very short time.

Mr. SCOTT DICKSON

When will the Budget be introduced?

Mr. JOSEPH PEASE

That is a question which should be addressed to the Prime Minister to-morrow.
