HC Deb 07 April 1909 vol 3 cc1158-9
Mr. PATRICK O'BRIEN (for Mr. Hazleton)

asked when the latest list of keepers of victualling houses in Ireland liable to billets under the Army Act was last made out by the police authorities; how many victuallers so liable does the list disclose; and what is the number of officers, soldiers, and horses they are liable to provide for?

The SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Mr. Haldane)

A Return was compiled in the War Office in 1904, presumably from lists prepared by the police authorities, of such accommodation available in the United Kingdom for men and horses. It is not proposed to publish these figures. The number of victuallers is not shown.
