HC Deb 01 April 1909 vol 3 cc470-1
Mr. O'DOWD

asked whether the Estates Commissioners had approached Mr. R. R. S. Gardiner, J.P., of Towerhill, Ballinafad, county Sligo, with the view of purchasing the three non-residential grazing farms owned by him on the late King-Harman estate, situate near Boyle, county Roscommon, and named respectively Carrowmore, Rusheens, and Roycroft's Park; and, if not, whether steps would be taken to have these grass lands acquired for the enlargement of the small holdings in the neighbourhood?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners inform me that these holdings appear to be subject to land purchase annuities, and that they have no power to acquire the lands.
