§ *MR. REESI beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for India whether, in conformance with the recommendation of the recent Police Commission, a now grade of deputy superintendent of police was created; and whether European inspectors of long service are ineligible for such appointments.
§ MR. BUCHANANThe Answer to the first Question is in the affirmative. In accordance with the Report of the Commission, and the Resolution of the Government of India thereupon, this new grade is to be filled by Indians and not by Europeans.
