HC Deb 28 October 1908 vol 195 cc271-2
MR. CROOKS (Woolwich)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether any record exists of the injury received by Ernest Taylor while on duty at Wandsworth Prison, 11th May, 1904; and, if such record does exist, can it be produced as evidence in favour of a claim for a compassionate grant for the permanent disablement of Ernest Taylor.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. GLADSTONE,) Leeds, W.

Prison records show that on 12th May Ernest Taylor mentioned having received a blow on the head when on duty on 10th May, 1904. I must refer my hon. friend to my Answer on 28th April last, a copy of which I will send him.
