HC Deb 27 October 1908 vol 195 c71
MR. ESSEX (Gloucestershire, Cirencester)

I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer in which of the Colonies and Dependencies of the British Empire and in which States in the United States of America is the system of high licence duties on the sale of intoxicating liquors in force; and what are the rates or scales of such duties in each case.

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. LLOYD-GEORGE, Carnarvon Boroughs)

The information required by my hon. friend is too voluminous to be supplied in answer to a Parliamentary Question, but I shall be glad to supply him with any material in my possession if he will be good enough to confer with me upon the subject.
