HC Deb 26 October 1908 vol 194 c1611
MR. H. H. MARKS (Kent, Thanet)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Government has received information of the seizure by the Venezuelan authorities of the steamship "Lady Kensington," and of the arrest and imprisonment of her passengers and crew, and whether he can state what action will be taken in the matter.

MR. MCKINNON WOOD

His Majesty's Government have already been informed of the alleged detention of the "Lady Kensington"; but the particulars furnished are so incomplete that the Governor of the Windward Islands, who is in direct communication with His Majesty's Minister at Caracas, has been requested to make further inquiries into the matter.
