HC Deb 26 October 1908 vol 194 c1622
MR. R. DUNCAN (Lanarkshire, Govan)

I beg to ask the Prime Minister if it is an instruction to the spending Departments that as far as practicable orders for work to be done shall be placed in the United Kingdom rather than abroad until employment at home is in a satisfactory state.

MR. ASQUITH

There is no general instruction to the Departments, but, as a matter of fact, the amount of work which they place outside the United Kingdom is exceedingly small.
