HC Deb 22 October 1908 vol 194 c1364
MR. COURTHOPE

I beg to ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, how many acres of hops have this year been left unpicked owing to the disastrous state of the hop market.

MR. J. A. PEASE (for Sir EDWARD STRACHEY)

It is estimated that some 3,500 acres of hops have from one cause or another been left unpicked this year.
