SIR BERKELEY SHEFFIELD (Lincolnshire, Brigg)

To ask the Secretary of State for War what number of slates have been used during the last two years for slating the roofs of the barracks at Aldershot; and whether these slates are of foreign or British origin.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) 109,170 slates were used, 99,170 being of British origin, and 10,000, approximately, of foreign origin. The latter are being used experimentally.
