HC Deb 21 October 1908 vol 194 cc1133-4
MR. MOND (Chester)

To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether persons of the statutory age who are in receipt of Poor Law relief, the amount of which is recovered in its entirety by the guardians from the children or relatives of such persons, are disqualified by the receipt of such relief from receiving old-age pensions.

(Answered by Mr. John Burns.) My right hon. friend has asked me to reply to this Question. It is with some others which have arisen under the recent Act, and which involve legal considerations, receiving attention, but for the moment I must ask my hon. friend to let me defer giving a definite answer to it.
