§ MR. H. H. MARKS (Kent, Thanet)To ask the President of the Local Government Board whether he will consider the possibility of utilising some portion of the supply of unemployed labour now available upon the construction 923 of motor roads throughout the country to accommodate the growing motor traffic.
(Answered by Mr. John Burns.) Parliament has not at present authorised the construction of any roads for the exclusive use of motor traffic. In the absence of the legislation necessary to give such authority I am afraid it would not be practicable to adopt the suggestion in the Question.
