MR. HAVELOCK WILSON (Middlesbrough)

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he can state the number of cases where seamen have been examined by the nautical surveyors of the Board of Trade when there has been any doubt as to the efficiency of such seamen engaged on board of British ships, and the number of such examinations since the year 1897.

(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) No special record has been kept of the cases to which my hon. friend refers, but inquiries shall be made and the result communicated to him.
