HC Deb 15 October 1908 vol 194 c484
MR. BOLAND (Kerry, S.)

I bog to ask Mr. Attorney-General whether he is now in a position to say what steps, if any, have been, or will be, taken to institute further proceedings against Messrs. Cleeve Brothers for selling Dutch condensed milk under a description calculated to convey that the product was Irish.

THE ATTORNEY-GENERAL (Sir W. ROBSON,) South Shields

It is not intended to take any further proceedings in this case. Such proceedings if taken would be by way of special case, setting out the facts as found by the learned magistrate. On those facts, as the magistrate was prepared to state them, those concerned in the case are of opinion that an appeal would not succeed, and I do not feel justified in differing from them.
