HC Deb 30 November 1908 vol 197 c1059
MR. WEIR (ROSS and Cromarty)

To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the fact that the majority of persons over seventy years of age in the Western Highlands and Islands of Scotland speak Gaelic only, will he consider the expediency of having the regulations in regard to old-age pensions issued in those districts in Gaelic.

(Answered by Mr. Lloyd-George.) I may refer my hon. friend to the Answer which I gave on the 3rd instant to my hon. friend the Member for Sutherland. If he will bring to my notice any case of hardship, I shall be glad to have it inquired into, and will see that the necessary steps are taken in the matter.
