HC Deb 30 November 1908 vol 197 c1072
MR. CATHCART WASON (Orkney and Shetland)

I beg to ask the Undersecretary of State for the Colonies if he can now state whether it is still possible for a British subject to be summarily deported from the Dominion of Canada without any form of trial and on the ground of being temporarily out of employment.

THE UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Colonel Seely,) Liverpool, Abercromby

As I stated in reply to my hon. friend's Question on the 2nd November, the Secretary of State is in communication with the Dominion Government on the question of the law to which he refers, and I am not yet in a position to give any further information on the subject.
