HC Deb 30 November 1908 vol 197 cc1105-6
MR. A. J. BALFOUR (City of London)

May I ask the Prime Minister whether it would be convenient to him, either to-day or later, to make a general statement as to the Business of the House. The right hon. Gentleman postponed last week a general statement until he knew the decision of the House of Lords in. regard to the Licensing Bill. I imagine that the decision of the House of Lords is now generally known; and that being; so, perhaps the right hon. Gentleman may now be prepared to make the general statement which he promised.

MR. ASQUITH

That element of uncertainty has been removed; but I should prefer to defer my statement a little time.
