§ MR. JOYCEI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether a Distress Committee for the relief of the unemployed has been set up in Limerick; if so, what steps have been taken with a view to secure a grant; and whether any such grant has been made, and, if so, what is the amount.
§ MR. BIRRELLAn order has been issued by the Local Government Board 697 enabling the corporation of Limerick to constitute a Distress Committee under the Unemployed Workmen Act. When the Committee is formed it will be open to it to apply for a grant from the unemployed fund, and the application when made will receive due consideration.
