HC Deb 23 November 1908 vol 196 c1769
* SIR CHARLES W. DILKE (Gloucestershire, Forest of Dean)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether any steps have been taken to revise the numbers and cost of head-quarters staff, in accordance with the repeated suggestions of the Public Accounts Committee.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. HALDANE,) Haddington

I can assure my right hon. friend that I have not overlooked this point; but at the present time I have barely sufficient staff to cope with the extra pressure involved in the organisation of the forces of the Crown, including the Territorial Force.
