MR. B. S. STRAUS (Tower Hamlets, Mile End)

To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether a widow of a foreign subject, although she has never been out of this country, is disqualified for receiving an old-age pension.

(Answered by Mr. Lloyd-George.) The Answer is in the affirmative, unless the claimant has subsequently recovered her British nationality by naturalisation and resided in the United Kingdom for at least twenty years since such naturalisation.
