§ MAJOR RENTON (Lincolnshire, Gainsborough)To ask the Secretary of State for War if he can state the number of emigrated reservists up to 1st November last, and how many of these belong to the Royal Engineers, Royal Artillery, cavalry, and infantry, respectively.
(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) On 1st November 5,948 Army Reservists had permission to reside abroad, including over 1,000 who were at sea. Of this number there were 327 Royal Engineers, 642 Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery, 506 Royal Garrison Artillery, 548 cavalry, and 3,407 infantry, including Foot Guards.
