HC Deb 18 November 1908 vol 196 cc1200-1
MR. G. A. HARDY (Suffolk, Stowmarket)

To ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether his attention has been called to the fact that in West Suffolk 254 applications have been made for small holdings and eighty-three of these have been approved, and that no applicants have yet been provided for by the council and no land acquired; and what steps he proposes to take.

(Answered by Sir Edward Strachey.) Yes, Sir. The county council are however negotiating for the acquisition of several properties, and the Board have every reason to believe that the council will submit some schemes before long. If they fail to do so the Board will take all necessary steps in the matter.
