MR. G. GREENWOOD (Peterborough)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether any, and, if so, how many persons of sixteen years of age or upwards are now imprisoned or kept in penal servitude in respect of offences committed by them when under sixteen years of age.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Gladstone.) The number of such persons serving sentences of imprisonment is twenty-five, and one is serving a sentence of penal servitude. Total, twenty-six.
