§ MR. SUMMERBELLTo ask the First Lord of the Admiralty if he can state when the Report as to the proposed changes in regard to the coastguard service will be submitted to the House for consideration.
(Answered by Mr. McKENNA.) The re-transfer of revenue duties to the Board of Customs, now performed by the coastguard, can only be effected by Act of Parliament. It is hoped a Bill for this purpose will be introduced next session, and it would be premature to make a statement in anticipation of the introduction of the Bill.
