HC Deb 12 November 1908 vol 196 c518
MR. COOPER (Southwark, Bermondsy)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the total number of police wheeled-litter ambulances in the metropolitan area in each year from 1891 to 1907; and the total number at the present time.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Gladstone.) The earlier figures cannot readily be given, but it may be assumed that previous to 1903 there was an ambulance at every police station. The total number of police ambulances on 31st December of the undermentioned years was: 1903, 190; 1904, 192; 1905, 198; 1906, 203; 1907, 263; 31st October, 1908, 278.
