HC Deb 10 November 1908 vol 196 cc36-7
MR. STANLEY WILSON (Yorkshire, E.R., Holderness)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War what steps have been taken to carry out his undertaking to build new quarters for the officers of the Army Service Corps at the Curragh.

MR. HALDANE

Plans have now been approved and the building will be proceeded with as soon as possible.

MR. ASHLEY (Lancashire, Blackpool)

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the huts in which these officers are now living are unfit for human habitation? Can they not be removed to some other place in view of the approach of winter?

MR. HALDANE

The huts are being inspected.

MR. ASHLEY

Can the officers not be properly housed in the village?

MR. HALDANE

If the hon. Member will put down that Question I will inquire.
