§ MR. ASHLEYI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether it is proposed in future to give free travelling allowance to officers' wives and families, by land as well as by sea, in the event of such officers being moved from a station of permanent duty, in view of his statement in Committee of Supply on 8th March, 1906, that the officer's wife and family will in future have free conveyance if the officer is sent away on duty.
§ MR. HALDANEThe promise to which the hon. Member alludes, only 1685 referred to conveyance by sea. There is no present intention of extending the concession in the manner suggested in the Question.
