HC Deb 09 November 1908 vol 195 c1664
MR. COURTHOPE

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he will institute an immediate and complete series of tests and experiments upon all patterns and types of existing .303 ammunition, without restriction as to pressure, chamber space, or magazine length, in order that a correct decision may be formed as to the best type of ammunition for a .308 rifle.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) I am afraid that I cannot undertake such an investigation. For the purpose in view a sufficient and complete investigation is being made.
