§ MR. LONSDALEI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland how many cattle-drives have taken place in the Riverstown district since the fatal affray on 29th October; whether the police were present at any of them; and how many police are now stationed in this district.
§ MR. BIRRELLThere has not been any cattle-drive in the Riverstown district since 29th October. There are at present at Riverstown twenty-one police under the command of a head constable.
§ MR. LONSDALEDoes the right hon. Gentleman consider there is a sufficient force of police in the district to preserve order?
