HC Deb 04 November 1908 vol 195 c1237
MR. LONSDALE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he has received reports of a man, named Cushen, having been threatened by a party of disguised and armed men in his house at Lacken, in the Kilmihill district, County Clare, on the night of the 27th instant; whether the men fired shots outside the dwelling; and whether any arrests have been made.

MR. BIRRELL

The Inspector-General of the Royal Irish Constabulary informs me that Cushen was threatened in the manner described, and that a shot was fired on the occasion. The police have not succeeded in obtaining evidence which would justify them in making arrests.
