§ MR. MORTONI beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will see that the officers appointed to carry out the Old-Age Pensions Act in the Highland counties of Scotland are acquainted with the Gaelic language.
§ MR. LLOYD-GEORGEI am not aware that any difficulty has arisen in the Highland counties of Scotland in connection with the Gaelic language and the working of the Old-Age Pensions Act, nor have I received any complaints on the subject. But, if my hon. friend will inform me of any cases of hardship which may come to his notice, I will see that the necessary steps are taken to deal with the matter.
