HC Deb 03 November 1908 vol 195 c956
MR. FIELD

To ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government intend to introduce legislation with a view to safeguard the people of the three Kingdoms from the danger arising from the recklessness and speed frequently practised by the drivers of motor cars upon public roads.

(Answered by Mr. Asquith.) For the reasons given by me and by my right hon. friend the President of the Local Government Board, in reply to numerous Questions of the same kind, the Government do not intend to introduce legislation on the subject during the present session.
