MR. DUNDAS WHITEI beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether any representations have been made to him as to the possibility of providing remunerative employment by reclaiming any part of the foreshores of the Clyde above Greenock, on either side of the fairway, between the training walls and high-water mark; whether these foreshores belong to the Crown or to private persons; whether they are entered in the valuation roll; and, if so, what is taken as the rateable value of them or any part of them.
§ THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Mr. SINCLAIR,) ForfarshireNo representations have been received on the subject referred to by my hon. friend. I understand the foreshores in the positions described are mainly the property of the Crown.
