§ MR. MONTAGU (Cambridgeshire, Chesterton)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether he has issued a circular to local authorities in which he limits his sanction for loans for buildings under the Small Holdings Act of last year to thirty years.
§ MR. JOHN BURNSThe Answer is in the negative. The maximum period for loans in respect of buildings which the Act permits is fifty years; and this period I am prepared to allow whore the probable life of the building and the other circumstances of the case admit of my doing so.
§ *MR. MONTAGUHas the right hon. Gentleman up till now refused any loans for fifty years under this Act?
§ MR. JOHN BURNSNo. The terms are eighty years for land and fifty years for buildings.
